What are the benefits of membership to the Guild of Book Workers?

Members of the Guild of Book Workers have a wide variety of services and activities available:

• The Guild of Book Workers Newsletter, a bimonthly newsletter.
• The Guild of Book Workers Journal, a semi- annual journal.
• Membership directory
• Study Opportunities List
• Supplies & Services Directory
• A lending library of historical and contemporary books, catalogs, newsletters and videos
• A listserv for online information sharing
• Traveling exhibitions of members’ works
• Participation in the Seminar on Standards of Excellence in Hand Bookbinding (referred to as just "Standards")

Why join the Delaware Valley Chapter?

For an additional $10 added to your annual Guild of Book Workers membership fee

($85, $30 for students), you can participate in GBW activities at a local level such as:

• Workshops- at least two in-depth workshops are offered each year. Members can sign up first at a discounted rate. We also offer three “Fast, Friendly, Free” workshops – half day free workshops open to members only.
• Lectures – we sponsor talks on subjects that interest our members
• Exhibitions – we occasionally organize DVC exhibitions and notify our members of local exhibition opportunities
• Tours – we organize tours of binderies, studios, and conservation labs.
• Social Activities – we have some fun informal social gatherings.
• Pressing Matter - E-mailed copies of our digital newsletter
• Blog and Website – we keep our members informed of activities through email, our blog, facebook, and our website.
